Ladies Love Song Writing Night

Ladies Love Song Writing Night
by Songwriter
Sheryl Collins

This idea came to me after taking a course with the authors of Ladies Night of Drawing Julia Rothman, Leah Goren, and Rachael Cole on Skilllshare. I wanted to become more involved with the method because my daughter is a good manga artist. I thought while taking this course that this could work for songwriters too.
In fact, it can work for many things from knitting, baking, cooking, writing our novel night to yes to songwriting.
Everyone who already follows me knows that I am romance addicted. I am a sucker for love. It is true I am still single, a girl needs to get her love from somewhere. Some women get it from a good romance book or a chick flick but I get it from writing about love. Love sucks right. I made it rewarding to me to focus mostly on love and relationships if it doesn't deal with children.
A girl got to get love from somewhere.
While taking the course I decide to come up with some ideas for a Ladies Love Song Writer Night. We know ladies like to party. Ladies like to party even by themselves. Kool and the Gang had it right about Ladies Night.
If you want to go into production with the song, of course, you need to learn about split sheets and the whole music business law things about it. I am only taking about a great Ladies Night!!! Let the party idea get started. Think of me as your personal party planners ladies of love songwriting.

Note: You might want to start with smaller parties at first.

  1. Getting the Materials Together

This should be easy if you song writes already. That include our musician and singers.
You need either a songwriting journal or a laptop where you keep your songwriting.   I
f you play an instrument you might tag along with a portable instrument. You will also need your choice of what you will write with. It doesn’t matter cause you are the writer. I like to also have a rhyming dictionary. At last a lot of love in your heart!

2.  Party Refreshment

You can get creative with this with themes or even if you are a focus on taking your love song in another language.
You might want to bring the culture food to make it feel a little real.
Myself I love cake. If it’s pop music why not pop cakes including the night.
Yes, as women we like to show off our new recipes and cooking skills.
If you are not lucky to have a cook in the group that’s still fine you can decide the days ahead.
Some people like their snacks simple so if you are into potato chips than go ahead. I am non-drinker.
So it’s hard to get me to take a sip but only maybe a special occasion.
So make sure you guys agree on beverages that night.
Maybe it’s the winter and hot chocolate and mocha a thing with danish.
Maybe it’s a party some have a beer, wine and some sparkling juice for those non-drinkers.
I take medicines so it’s not always a good thing so subbing
Welch's Sparkling Grape Juice in an appearance of a wine bottle is cool.

3. Theme.
As songwriters and writers, in general, the basics is easy because you are human.
Mostly everyone has at least had one love experience whether it’s been infatuation to years of commitments.
Basic Theme’s
  1. Crush- You don’t know the guy yet or he’s/ she ’s doesn’t know!
  2. First encounter- The first embrace of being in the company of someone you desire.
  3. Falling in Love-  Love makes us do crazy things. Talk about the love you share and how you feel.
  4. Devoted- You will give your all because of there no turning back. This guy/ girl is the one.
  5. Falling Out Love-  You, not the right person or maybe I just can’t handle something about you.
  6. Wifey- Forever love starts with long passion and years of the sweet nectar of passion.
  7. Broken Heart-  Maybe it ended the relationship or you feel it will end.  It can be from being different from cheating lovers.

You can decide how you would choose. Maybe you will call the party comers or email to see what the crowd wants by a simple vote. It could be pulled from a jar at the party.

4. Bring the Conversation and Bring Your Styles
Women love to gossip so why not unwind with refreshment while discussing themes. This is a place of good therapy with your girls. Who does not like to talk about our lovers or who one of our girls interested in?

5. Exchange Writing!
This is Ladies Night!  Add a few lines to your girl song or even edit it.  Relax no judges are in the house! Let your hair hang down and have some good old girl time.  Talk out the songs with one another.
You want to keep exchanging until the song is back to the original writer.

6. Sing! Sing! Dance! Play an Instrument! Critique It!
The party is alive with singing with everyone to those who are creating cords for a great song. Maybe another line sounds better. Redo it Redo it! Toast for a great songwriting night and hanging with your girls.

7.  A Finish Song!
It’s your choice what you do with it! Maybe your girls say no split sheet! You do the figures! Completion.
